Dinky, Ace + Bella’s Build

The ChainFree Chattanooga crew has kicked off our 2025 with a fence for three pups: Dinky, Ace, and Bella. We were thankful for a warm February first for our team of eight volunteers who put this one together.

Our fence recipient family was connected to ChainFree Chattanooga through a friend who met some of our team at 2024’s Mainx24 event. These three dogs needed a safe enclosure, as they had been reported to animal control for getting off their tethers in their yard. Since the owners let us know that the two male dogs required separation, we were able to accommodate them by building them a fence with two sections so that they could safely stay in their yard together.

Special Thanks to Chattaneuter

During our build, we learned that the senior female, Bella, is the mother of Dinky. While we enjoyed seeing the mother and son pair — we were all happy knowing that each of these dogs is now spayed or neutered. We want to give a big shoutout to Chattaneuter for contributing free neuters for these boys, prior to our fence build.

If you’re unfamiliar with Chattaneuter, they are a spay/neuter clinic offering low-cost, professional, high-quality care for dogs and cats. In addition to low-cost stay/neuter, they have frequent low-cost walk-up vaccine and microchip clinics for our community. We are so thankful for the critical work that they do!

Join Us in Our Mission

None of this would be possible without our awesome volunteers. If you're looking for a way to give back to the community and make a tangible difference in the lives of dogs, we invite you to join us for our next build. No special skills are required—just a few hours of your time on a weekend can help create a safer, happier environment for a dog in need. To volunteer for our next build, please submit a volunteer application, and we’ll contact you.

Help Us Continue Our Work

Your financial support allows us to purchase materials, cover operational costs, and reach even more needy dogs. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to freeing dogs from a life of continuous tethering.

The average fence build costs about $1200 in materials. We are an entirely volunteer-based organization, and your tax-deductible donation goes directly toward building more fences and helping us further our mission. Donate today to help us build more fences!

Together, we can continue to make Chattanooga a better place for dogs like Dinky, Ace, and Bella. Your support means the world to us!
