Curry’s Build
Last Saturday the ChainFree Chattanooga crew built a fence for a handsome 6 year old husky mix named Curry. When we arrived at the property, Curry nervously observed us roll up with supplies, and started to warm up to us after being tossed a few yummy treats. Curry’s home has a nice spacious back yard for us to enclose, with lots of grass. The enclosed area even included a nice overhang that will provide shade and shelter, along with a large insulated doghouse, AND access to the back door of the house for inclement weather.
Curry has been known to escape his tether and has had a few busts by animal control, so he was overdue for having a safe and secure yard set up. Our team was thankful that the land was pretty flat, with few obstacles to our process. We completed this build in about an hour and a half, and then we leashed up Curry and watched the magic happen.
Although he was a little apprehensive about his new space, with ten (friendly) strangers in his yard and all eyes on him, Curry lit up when his owner came into his fence and took a lap around the yard with him. We got word that after we left and he settled in, Curry was able to enjoy the yard and very happy to be off the chain.
Curry’s owner reported to us later in the evening, “Curry has definitely calmed down and is running around playing. He is using yall's toys you gave him when I got home. He was passed out on that little mat. I'm very grateful thank you and everybody so much….the new fence is gonna make things a lot less stressful… tell everyone who came out to help thank you, its amazing.”

Help Us Continue Our Work
Your financial support allows us to purchase materials, cover operational costs, and reach even more needy dogs. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to freeing dogs from a life of continuous tethering.
The average fence build costs about $1200 in materials. We are currently an entirely volunteer-based organization, and your tax-deductible donation goes directly toward building more fences and helping us further our mission. Donate today to help us build more fences!
Together, we can continue to make Chattanooga a better place for dogs like Curry. Your support means the world to us!
